Brand activations are a different discipline. The brief isn't "make the crowd go wild" — it's "make the brand unforgettable in a space that already has its own identity." When Team Crocodile brought us in for Magnum's stock market launch event at KITT Amsterdam, the challenge was clear: work with the venue's dramatic marble staircase, stay within Magnum's gold-and-black brand palette, and create something that photographs beautifully from every angle.
The concept
We designed a cascading golden balloon installation that flowed down the central staircase like liquid gold. A mix of chrome gold spheres, translucent amber clusters and matte black accents — all sized and positioned to follow the natural curve of the marble. Mirror foil elements caught the overhead lighting and threw warm reflections across the walls. The effect was opulent without being excessive, which is exactly where brand work needs to land.
Working with KITT
KITT is one of Amsterdam's most striking event venues — a converted bank with soaring ceilings, marble everywhere, and architectural details that demand respect. We couldn't drill, tape or attach anything to the staircase. Every element was either freestanding, balanced or suspended from temporary rigging above. The installation team worked through the night, finishing at 06:00 for a 10:00 reveal.
The result
Guests entered through the main hall and immediately saw the staircase transformed. The gold caught the morning light streaming through the windows, and by the time the press photographers arrived, the installation had already become the backdrop for dozens of social media posts. Team Crocodile reported it was the most-shared visual from the entire launch event. For us, it confirmed something we've learned over years of brand work: balloons don't have to be playful. In the right context, with the right materials, they can be as refined as any sculptural medium.
